Diploma for Beauty Specialist

Description:
This course provides the learner a thorough understanding and skill in Facial Treatments, Manicure, Pedicure, Make Up & Waxing.

Aims:
To enable a candidate perform a safe and effective facial therapy, make-up, hand, foot and waxing treatments.
To enable a candidate to gain employment as a beauty therapist.

Students of The Institute of Beauty will be able to:

  • Recognise skin types and disorders and rake appropriate action in selecting or advising clients about treatments and aftercare.
  • Perform safe, hygienic, effective treatments to a commercially acceptable standard and timing in the following areas: Skin Care, Lash and Brow treatments, Electrical treatments to the face and neck, Face, neck & shoulder massage, Face masks, Make-up techniques, Nail treatments and Waxing treatments.
  • Adapt treatments to suit the individual client’s needs by analysing information gathered at consultation, including contra-indications.
  • Select, use and advise clients about skin care products and make-up for the face, and products for the hands and feet.
  • Understand the basic key ingredients in cosmetic preparations.
    Understand the scientific principles of electrotherapy applied to the face and neck areas.
  • Understand the importance of current local legislation appertaining to beauty employment.

Diploma in Epilation

Description: Treatments for the Permanent Removal of unwanted hair.

Aims: To enable the candidate to perform safe and effective electrical epilation treatments.
To enable a candidate to gain employment as an electrologist.

  • Understand the importance of current legislation appertaining to beauty employment.
  • Perform aftercare procedures immediately after electrical epilation treatment and give appropriate home care advice and management of the area in between treatments

Diploma in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light Treatments

Description:
Treatments for the purpose of improving the condition of the skin by the use of Laser and Intense Pulsed Light equipment.

Aims:
The main aim of the ITEC Level 4 Diploma in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light Treatments is to enable Candidates to provide treatments for the purpose of improving the condition of the skin by the use of Laser and Intense Pulsed Light equipment.
